have a background in computer science, economics, engineering or management. We also welcome backgrounds in mathematics, science or statistics

Please note that we’ve designed this programme for recent graduates with ideally no more than 3 years of work experience. If you have more experience, you might also like to take a look at our International MBA programmes.

A newly designed and integrated Learning Journey:

The Master in Data Science and AI for Business builds on the legacy of the former Master in Business Analytics and Data Science with a renewed focus on artificial intelligence and its business applications. Through a refreshed Learning Journey, you will develop expertise in data analytics, data science, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, while gaining practical experience through a new AI Lab and dedicated AI for Business courses. Combining strong analytical foundations with real-world business applications, the programme prepares professionals to transform data into strategic insights and AI into measurable business impact.

Practice-Based Learning:

This is not a theoretical master! Throughout the journey, you will have the chance to learn from practitioners and use interactive and practice based methodologies. With over 40 hours of laboratory content such as datathon, a Generative AI Lab, and a seminar on European Data Regulation, you will apply their knowledge to real-world business challenges while exploring the opportunities and responsibilities of data-driven innovation. The programme is further enriched by dedicated cycles on Strategic Leadership Applied to AI and Agile Management for Data Science & AI Projects, enabling students to develop the leadership and project management skills needed to successfully drive AI initiatives and create business impact.

Our Master in Data Science and AI for Business is a 12-month Master programme.

Admissions

Please note that we process applications on a rolling basis, which means that they may close even before the deadlines. Our limited number of seats available in the class means the sooner you apply, the better.

If you are a non-EU candidate, we recommend that you apply at least 3 months before the programme starts, to leave enough time for a Verification Statement of your degree and to apply for your student visa.

1. ACTIVATE YOUR APPLICATION AND SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS

university transcripts/mark sheets
bachelor’s/master’s degree (if already available at the time of the application)
copy of your passport or ID
digital picture
letter of reference
motivation letter

Have an English proficiency certificate such as IELTS (or equivalent) with a 6.5 overall and no section below 6.0. This is necessary if you do not hold UK citizenship, due to visa requirements

Pay the Application Fee (EUR €100)

2. SCREENING

We will let you know if you have been selected for a Motivational Interview in English, which we will do online.

Fees and Benefits

The programme costs €26,000. These costs cover the entire length of our programme, but they do not include living and travel expenses. A reduced fee of € 13,000 is available for students who have graduated from Politecnico di Milano with a Master of Science degree, no more than 3 years before enrolling in the Master.

We at POLIMI GSoM have partnered with Flywire to accept payments from international students worldwide.

Applicants for the Specialising Masters can apply for fee reductions. These are given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s a good idea to apply early. If you’d like financial aid, you need to request it when you submit your application form – please note that late requests for financial aid won’t be considered.

Please note that we don’t offer full scholarships, and that the DSU and other scholarships offered by Politecnico di Milano and the Italian Government cannot be used for POLIMI GSoM’s programmes.
