A new space for exchanging views on a sustainable future: POLIMI Graduate School of Management’s Impact Committee is born

What is the role of a business school in a world that is facing rapid change, particularly in a global context that requires the integration of sustainability and social responsibility into business practices? For us, the answer is clear: be a catalyst for positive change. We look at innovation as a driver to promote a more equitable and sustainable society, committed to training leaders who can tackle global challenges responsibly.

In response to these challenges, we have established the Impact Committee, an advisory body that is tasked with guiding the School in addressing sustainability challenges, developing effective strategies to maximise the positive impact of our activities. Made up of 23 members, including the President of POLIMI GSoM, Vittorio Chiesa, and Dean, Federico Frattini, the Impact Committee represents a space for strategic dialogue that brings together different perspectives to broaden our long-term vision.

With input from experts from different fields, the Impact Committee will work to identify and promote best practices in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies, with a particular focus on how ESG practices can be integrated tangibly into our curriculum and activities. In addition, the Impact Committee will help to stimulate discussion around the Business School’s Impact Report, in order to ensure transparency and consistency with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

The first meeting allowed the members of the Committee to identify priority areas for action and to build a roadmap for the coming months. A workshop dedicated to innovation in sustainability provided the opportunity to design future scenarios, with short-, medium- and long-term goals, and to identify project areas to work on by 2029, in line with the objectives of our Business School's PIE (Positive Impact through Education) Plan.

With the establishment of the Impact Committee, the School has strengthened its commitment to driving change through inclusive dialogue and the sharing of innovative knowledge. This new forum will become crucial for stimulating cutting-edge ideas and building effective solutions for a more sustainable future, in line with European standards and regulations on sustainability and social responsibility.
