POLIMI GSoM: a community which grows through relationships, research and social engagement

At POLIMI Graduate School of Management, the word community is not an abstract concept, but a living reality that takes shape every day thanks to students, alumni, faculty, partners and organisations with whom the School builds lasting relationships. The 2024 Impact Report relates how this ecosystem has strengthened, giving rise to projects and initiatives that generate value well beyond the classroom.

With over 200 faculty members and an increasingly wide network of academic and corporate partners, the School has continued to deliver quality teaching, combining scientific rigour with practical cases, and stimulating the exchange between research and the world of work. In 2024, 214 lecturers taught in the School’s programmes: 7% with an international profile and a third women, confirming an inclusive and evolving community.

But the academic dimension is only one part of a much larger network. Collaboration with over 450 suppliers and more than 70 non-profit organisations has enabled the development of practical social responsibility and awareness-raising initiatives, while our links with international business schools have opened up new prospects for dialogue and solidarity, as in the case of the support to three Ukrainian institutions through dedicated courses, video lectures and scholarships.

The School’s civic commitment has also been expressed through donations totalling over €125,000, with the participation in the project “Includere per Crescere” (Include to Grow) – which promotes the employment of vulnerable individuals – and through the active support of the Gianluca Spina Association, which promotes research, innovation and the right to education.

The Alumni Community's major events, such as the Alumni Summer Gala and the Alumni Christmas Event, which attracted the participation of over 400 alumni and students, have contributed to strengthening the sense of belonging. At the same time, study tours brought nearly 1,200 international participants from 14 countries to engage with 42 companies and hear 23 testimonials, exploring key topics such as sustainability, smart manufacturing and digital transformation.

There were also opportunities for outreach and engagement with society. From the Innovators’ Talks podcast – which has surpassed 70 episodes – to video interviews of the Capolavori (Masterpieces) project, to the “Purpose in Action” Eduseries launched in 2024 to explore the transformative power of Purpose, POLIMI GSoM has spread knowledge and inspiration far beyond academic boundaries. Alongside these came Purpose Day, which, in its second edition, involved over 1,000 participants, 25 speakers and 12 partner organisations, transforming the theme of Purpose into an occasion for public debate and collective growth.

“We believe that the strength of a Business School lies in its ability to build authentic connections and generate impact through the sharing of knowledge and values. One example is Purpose in Action, our Eduseries on Purpose, which is open to the entire Community.“

The common thread uniting all these initiatives is clear: the belief that management training doesn’t end in the classroom, but is also built through social engagement, shared experiences, and the ability to create impact.
