The strength of POLIMI Graduate School of Management has a face: that of its employees - POLIMI GSoM

Behind every lesson, every project, and every idea at POLIMI Graduate School of Management are the people who bring our School to life every day. Our positive impact begins with them: the staff who, with their energy, expertise and passion, contribute to building an increasingly sustainable, innovative and inclusive business school.

As of 31 December 2024, the School had 171 employees − a young team, with an average age of under 36, mostly female: in fact, 75% of our employees and 60% of people in managerial positions identify as women.

But we don't just calculate the numbers, we also look at how we grow. In 2024 alone, 39 colleagues received an internal promotion, and our turnover rate is below the industry average. This indicates stability and mutual trust.

For us, taking care of people means starting with the basics: workplace safety, clear contracts, welfare and training. But we also go beyond that. From a supplemental healthcare plan that covers specialist visits, dental care and psychotherapy, to weekly runs with PlayMore!, a non-profit organisation that promotes inclusive sporting and social activities and with which we collaborate to give our employees the opportunity to participate in weekly running training on a voluntary basis during working hours.

As far as professional growth is concerned, POLIMI GSoM continuously invests in the training of its employees, with a total of 1,532 hours provided in 2024. Training covers both mandatory aspects, such as safety, and the development of managerial, sustainability- and innovation-related skills.

We pay particular attention to parents, through regulated leave, flexible working hours and welfare services that support a work-life balance.

This is accompanied by a culture of active listening, not only via formal questionnaires or surveys, but also with a physical space to share thoughts, suggestions, and open discussions. The best ideas often come from a simple chat over a coffee: it’s from this belief that we’ve created initiatives such as the Coffee Talks with Impact, an opportunity for informal dialogue on the issues closest to our hearts.

Because being a purpose-driven Business School also means knowing how to put people first, and not just training leaders for the future, but being leaders, every day, within our organisation.

"At POLIMI Graduate School of Management, we believe that our most authentic impact comes from our people. That’s why we invest in their wellbeing, their growth, and in creating an inclusive and participatory environment. This is not merely a strategic choice, but a tangible expression of our values. Every day, we strive to build a workplace culture based on trust and active listening, where each of us can truly make a difference."
