Being a B Corp
Let’s build a better tomorrow, together. Sustainability is serious business for us here at POLIMI GSoM, which is why we’re constantly working towards a better, fairer, more conscious, and more inclusive future.
We have been the first Business School in Europe to receive the B-Corp certification in 2020.
Our B-Corp Certificate means we went through B Impact Assessment and a process of qualification. This measures, manages, and improves a company’s positive impact performance for workers, communities, customers, suppliers, and the environment.
One of the main reasons we did this was because we completely understand the role that every company will play in building a better tomorrow for everyone. Every single business will need to rethink its purpose and raison d’être, putting front and centre the role that it wants to hold in society. And of course, this is even more relevant for us as a school, because we can directly inspire people from different companies to join forces with us on this journey.
And there’s even more. Since we’re a B-Corp Business School, we get the chance to partner with a powerful network of companies around the world – companies that really care about their impact on sustainability. B-Corp certified companies form an international community with the common goal of combining profit with collective well-being, while at the same time caring for the environment and society as a whole. Around 3,400 companies have been awarded this certification, and about one hundred of them are in Italy.

LEAVE YOUR MARK
We’ve designed “Leave Your Mark” to give managers, professionals and young POLIMI GSoM talent a chance to make their skills available – pro bono – to non-profit institutions that play a key role in building a more inclusive society and a better future for all. It’s promoted by us at POLIMI GSoM in partnership with the Gianluca Spina Association, and is not only a great opportunity for human and professional growth, but also a chance for you to give part of your training back to the community. This initiative brings together the purpose of our Business School, “to shape a better future for all”, with the goal of building a more sustainable future. It promotes a contributory and positive impact on society, in collaboration with institutions that can benefit from the experience and knowledge of our Alumni and Faculty. Through this initiative, you really can leave a positive mark on our world.

Masters in sustainability Platform
By now it’s clear that there are deep interconnections between business, society, and the environment. We’re convinced that the only way to achieve a lasting improvement in the economic performance of companies and countries is if we protect people and their dignity, improve social welfare, manage natural resources properly, protect the environment, and promote professional ethics. That’s why we want to train the next generation to be inspired by these principles and to get familiar with sustainability solutions at all levels of management. To help you on your way, we are offering four full-time 12-month programmes delivered in English on the topics of Environmental Sustainability & Circular Economy, Sustainable Industrial Management, Sustainability Management & Corporate Social Responsibility, and Sustainable Finance.
Come take part and help us define ideas, projects, initiatives, and action plans to make concrete changes in sustainability. These tables bring to light important topics, including social and environmental issues, inclusion, and the fight against all forms of injustice and discrimination, and they do so in a real and tangible way. We strongly encourage everyone to contribute actively, including our staff, students, as well as our stakeholders and local communities.

because we know it’s essential that we act to limit global warming to 1.5°C and to work towards the European Union’s 2050 climate neutrality targets. That’s why we – together with other B Corp companies – aim to show other leading companies ways to incorporate positive change, showing how they can (and should!) be a positive force, and encouraging them in the identification of innovative, long-term solutions, from governance to operational and business models.

Be inspired by articles, podcasts and videos, which can energise your creativity and wish to innovate, stimulating you to seek for a deeper understanding and meaning in all your actions. Here are the ingredients in our recipe for tomorrow.
