Corporatism and Politics in the Trump Era

The Convergence of State and Business and the Challenge of Sustainability
How are the boundaries between business and politics being redefined? And what does it mean today to talk about sustainability in an increasingly fragmented and polarised world?
On Tuesday, 3 June at 6 pm at our Navigli Campus (Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Milan), the first appointment in the series of events dedicated to sustainability in the geopolitical, economic and contemporary social context will be held.
The topic of the meeting will be “Corporatism and Politics in the Trump Era: the Convergence of State and Business and the Challenge of Sustainability: this will be an opportunity to explore, together with leading experts from academia, business and society, the intersection of sustainability, power and governance. From the East India Company to the modern corporatisation of politics, we will analyse how the growing influence of business in public choices is transforming the role of institutions and testing the resilience of sustainable development models.
The event will also be a time for reflection and debate on how sustainability – now suspended between disillusionment and hope – can still represent a pragmatic response to the great challenges of our time.
