The new edition of “The China School” Summer School has been launched

The Summer School programme for “The China School”, an initiative organised in collaboration with the Research Center on Contemporary China (CSCC), has been officially launched. This summer school offers a unique opportunity to understand and experience firsthand the economic and technological transformations that are shaping China, the planet’s second-largest economy, which has centred its future development on hi-tech.

The programme, which will take place from 14 to 28 July 2026, will be run over a two-week period and will be held in three different cities: Milan, Shanghai (with stops in Hangzhou and Suzhou), and Shenzhen. The first part of the programme will take place in Milan at PoliHub, the Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator of Politecnico di Milano, where participants will attend lectures by internationally renowned experts in the fields of Chinese studies and the global economy. The group will then fly to China to participate in company visits (to Alibaba and Huawei, among others), guided tours, and meetings with representatives of Chinese and international companies and institutions. The meetings will be career-oriented, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with global players operating in China.

The main theme of the Summer School’s seventh edition will be China’s technological rise and its impact on the development of the Chinese and global economy, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, robotics, and microprocessors. Participants will have the opportunity to analyse how Chinese innovations are influencing not only the domestic economy, but also the global capitalist system, through co-operation between large multinationals and Chinese companies in various high-tech sectors.

The Summer School is an unmissable opportunity for those who wish to deepen their understanding of China’s economic and technological dynamics, both from a theoretical and practical point of view. To ensure a high-quality and interactive learning experience, the number of participants is limited to 30.

Registration is open until 31 March 2026. For more details on the programme, enrolment procedures and further information, please visit the official website.
