POLIMI GSoM at the EFMD workshop “Digital strategies in Business Education”: digital innovation at the service of management education

On 6 and 13 November 2025, POLIMI Graduate School of Management will be among the protagonists at the international workshop, “Digital Strategies in Business Education”, organised by EFMD Global

The event, which will be held entirely online, brings together representatives of business schools and academic institutions from around the world to discuss how digital strategies can transform management education and make it more innovative, sustainable, and inclusive.

This workshop aims to provide deans, directors, digital learning experts, and innovation managers with concrete tools for designing effective digital strategies. The initiative will focus on three key areas:

  • the adoption of emerging technologies, in particular Generative AI, and their impact on teaching, operations and research;
  • the evolution of European policies on lifelong learning and micro-credentials, which are redefining the landscape of continuous education;
  • the development of innovative online collaboration models, such as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) promoted by the State University of New York, enabling global educational projects without geographical constraints.

Through case studies, interactive workshops, and firsthand accounts, participants will have the opportunity to discuss how business schools can redefine their educational models in the digital age.

The School’s involvement demonstrates the University’s ongoing commitment to driving digital innovation processes in management education.

Two prominent voices will be representing POLIMI GSoM:

  • Tommaso Agasisti, Associate Dean for Institutions & Public Administration, who will open and close the workshop, presenting the key themes and outlining the strategic context in which business schools operate today;
  • Luigi Gangitano, Chief of Digital Innovation, who will lead the session “Generative AI in action: How to improve Business School operations using GenAI?” His presentation will focus on concrete cases of using generative AI to improve operational efficiency, enrich the experience of students and faculty, and support research and knowledge-sharing activities.

In addition to updates on the most relevant trends, the workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to design a digital strategy aligned with their institution’s mission and vision, explore new educational and operational models based on emerging technologies, foster an internal culture of continuous and shared innovation, and establish strategic partnerships at international level, encouraging collaboration between business schools and industry players.

Through collaboration with EFMD and other academic institutions involved, POLIMI GSoM confirms its role as an active player in international business education networks, helping to spread best practices and promote an approach to education that combines academic excellence and digital transformation.
