POLIMI Graduate School of Management: sound governance for responsible impact

At a time when integrity has become a fundamental requirement as well as a value, POLIMI Graduate School of Management, also in its capacity as a Benefit Corporation, is choosing to lead the way, adopting a governance model that combines organisational rigour with a stress on positive impact. As described in the 2024 Impact Report, the School’s system is founded on accountability and continuous improvement, principles that guide its every decision and that enable it to generate trust, fuel innovation and actively contribute to societal progress.
At the heart of this system is a solid and participatory structure: the School is supported by partners, including Politecnico di Milano and important corporate and institutional entities in the country. The governance model is structured around two main bodies: the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. The latter is composed of 14 members, including Associate Deans and Executive Directors, who are entrusted with the strategic and operational responsibility of the various functional areas.
Governance is, however, not just a structural issue. Above all, it is a set of principles that translate into concrete actions. With this in mind, POLIMI GSoM has strengthened its commitment to legality and transparency through the adoption and updating of Model 231 and the Code of Ethics, which enshrine shared values such as respect for the law, fairness, the centrality of the person, inclusion, confidentiality and collaboration. In line with Legislative Decree 24/2023 on whistleblowing, the School has also updated its reporting procedures, ensuring full protection and confidentiality for those who decide to report misconduct.
To further strengthen this framework, there are specific policies on personal data protection, cybersecurity and responsible information management, all compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In 2024, the School’s commitment was further strengthened by continuing its journey towards increasingly advanced non-financial reporting, based on up-to-date materiality analysis and internationally recognised standards. It also implemented specific improvements, such as integrating the ESG Policy - which had already been published on the website - into contractual relationships with suppliers, and increasing the visibility of reporting and enquiry mechanisms from all stakeholders.
It is this set of tools, actions, and values that define a forward-looking governance model: an approach geared towards positive impact and serving a broad, informed and engaged community. With this model, POLIMI Graduate School of Management continues to build an inclusive, safe and transparent learning environment every day, ready to face the global challenges of our time responsibly.
"In a world that increasingly demands responsibility and vision, governance cannot be merely a matter of structure - it must embody the values that guide our every action. At POLIMI Graduate School of Management, we believe in a model that combines rigour, transparency, and participation, to create a positive and lasting impact on society. This is how we shape leaders who can face global challenges with integrity and awareness."
- Federico Frattini, Dean of POLIMI GSoM
