We’ve changed. And this includes our name.

Our school has a new name, a new logo and a new visual identity. MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business becomes POLIMI Graduate School of Management.

But there is more: this is a change not only in the way we present ourselves and communicate to students, partners, faculty and staff members, but concerning the very essence of our School.

Two years ago, we first embarked on a journey of reflection on our purpose and values. A process that has helped us to understand what kind of School we want to be.

A school where we experiment and do. A school where we can create connections and grow our social capital. A school capable of sparking the change and innovation needed to build a better future for everyone.

We were not alone in this journey: joining us were the consultants (and friends) of The Mind at Work and Interbrand, but also the students, alumni, faculty, staff, corporate and institutional partners, all of whom represent the beating heart of our School, and who were great sources of ideas, inspiration and motivation for us. Thanks to a long process of discussion involving all of our stakeholders, we understood how they perceive the MIP brand, and were able to identify the strengths and weaknesses that can serve as the foundations for our future.

This gave rise to the concrete conception of who we want to be when we “grow up”. So, while we remain proud of everything built as MIP Politecnico di Milano, we also felt the need to align our brand with the directions newly under way:

POLIMI, to emphasise the link with the Politecnico ecosystem and the city of Milan, viewed as part of the experience we offer our students.
Graduate School of Management, because over the years our training offer has grown, to address not only companies but also the wider world of institutions.

A new logo, with its minimalist and functional look linked to the world of publishing, reminds us that our School wants to be a space for experimentation and creation, a place that can tell strong stories and messages.

The perfectly circular O of POLIMI expresses the school as a meeting place for those aiming to build their own futures.

Finally, the colour palette preserves the classic Politecnico blue – a tribute to our roots, but also includes pink, a symbol of the human element; green, reminding us of sustainability, and brick red, suggesting our ability to make and do, as well as the architectural details of our new Navigli Campus.

Our brand now reflects who we are. But this is only the first step: from now on it is up to us to ensure that our values are reflected in our actions. Because it is what we do – more than how we look – that defines who we really are and who we aspire to become.
