By now it’s clear that modern business is ever-changing and increasingly complex. That’s why a well-trained Project Manager is in high demand in any industry. We at POLIMI GSoM, together with Strathclyde, have decided to respond to this by creating a postgraduate-level professional training course that gives you the Project Management skills you need for success. We bring together modern Project Management approaches with a cross-sectorial and intercultural perspective that focuses on managerial, behavioural and technical skills.

If you decide to do this International Master in Project Management, you’ll get a chance to boost your understanding and drive your projects in the best possible way. We’ll help you explore the individual, team and company strategies needed to manage everything from little tasks to mega-projects.

Our programme gives you a highly specialised qualification in two countries, and at the end you’ll get a Master Degree from Politecnico di Milano and a Master of Science in Project Management from Strathclyde Business School.

A well-managed project is a thing of beauty. With this programme, we give you insight into the strategic and holistic demands of modern projects and a systematic understanding of a field that is becoming essential for modern-day organisations. We combine:

Project management as a way to deliver complex change.

Strategic management to formulate and implement organisational strategies.

We also work on the development of your transferable skills, especially teamwork, leadership, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and presentation, which will be invaluable for any and all jobs you might have in the future.

Since 2021, POLIMI GSoM has also been a PMI Authorised Training Provider. This means that our International Master in Project Management students all have the chance to get trained up for the PMP® certification exam.

In your essay, explain your point of view about the following concept:

In our current digital era, project communication tools and techniques need to be continuously updated or sometimes even completely redesigned. This constant evolution of communication systems happens both inside and outside the company.

Nowadays, for example, most communication among project teams is happening through WhatsApp or SMS messages, which have a low level of traceability or validity from a contractual point of view. Not only that but scheduling a meeting with someone also directly affects your personal calendar through Outlook or something similar. The “traditional” approach that we sometimes see is to forbid communication among some stakeholders, but this is anachronistic and incredibly difficult to control.

In the short term, this also affects overall project organisation. In your opinion, what are the possible scenarios for future project communication architecture and systems? What are the related consequences in terms of project roles and distribution of responsibility?

Present as many examples as possible, keeping your essay to a maximum of 3 pages.
