Are you an aspiring global professional that wants to bring art and management together? If so, our Master in Performing Arts Management is perfect for you.

Our programme trains you to bring a solid cultural and artistic background together with the economic and managerial skills to produce stage performances. The world is your oyster, but we also have a particular focus on Europe, North America and emerging markets.

Conceived and organised by Accademia Teatro alla Scala together with POLIMI GSoM and the Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa, our Master in Performing Arts Management promotes stage arts as a fundamental social, political and economic asset. We strongly believe that live performances preserve and pass on our collective cultural heritage and identity to future generations.

In this programme we put your individual development front and centre – the curriculum has an organically structured set of integrative modules and activities.

“The Master in Performing Arts Management can play a fundamental role in creating the expertise needed to run opera companies. More than ever today and tomorrow, opera managers must be competent in a variety of skills. My wish is that this wonderful initiative in Milano, at the heart of the land which invented opera, will attract students not only from Italy but throughout Europe and beyond Europe. It promises to become a centre of excellence which will nurture both the future of our profession and the diffusion of the art which we love”Nicholas Payne, Director Opera Europa

Throughout our network of cultural institutions, students have the unique opportunity to live the cultural offer of Milan.

Students are constantly supervised and oriented by professional tutors during the coursework and the internships.

Students have the chance to intern 3 to 6 months into some of the most renowned cultural institutions of the world.

More than the 90% of the 2019-2020 students is employed in the performing arts field within about a year from the graduation.

Alumni’s network and with the Startup accelerator PoliHub, getting the chance to participate to special events and having their new business ideas revised for free.

The strong bond with La Scala gives our students the incredible opportunity to take part into a cultural institution known worldwide.

“Economy” and “culture” are two perfectly complementary materials, when we’re talking about the performing arts. The main goal of this Master is to forge professionals with strong skills in both areas.

The Accademia has developed one of the best teaching methods in the world. You will have the rare opportunity to live and breathe a 360° experience of the dynamics of the Teatro alla Scala, learning directly from the professionals who work there.

You’ll also get the chance to analyse all aspects of the show live through testimonials, seminars, meetings and much, much more. Our teaching staff includes professionals from Opera Europa, Metropolitan Opera House, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera, Opera de Rennes, Berliner Philharmoniker, Hong Kong Arts Festival, DeVos Institute and WolfBrown.
