From the desks of POLIMI GSoM to the Forbes list: Mohammad's journey to excellence

At POLIMI Graduate School of Management we take pride in celebrating the extraordinary accomplishments of our alumni, whose success stories inspire future leaders and showcase the impact of our educational programmes. One such success story is that of Mohammad Dkaidik, an alumnus of the International Master in Marketing Management, Omnichannel and Consumer Analytics.
Recently, Mohammad was honoured with a place on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Middle East 2024 list in the Sports & Entertainment category. Currently serving as the Marketing Global Innovation Manager at L’Oréal, Mohammad’s journey began in his home country of Jordan and has since spanned borders, industries, and impactful initiatives.
In this exclusive interview, Mohammad shares his reflections on this incredible milestone, the driving forces behind his work, and his advice for aspiring marketers eager to leave their mark.
Being included in Forbes 30 Under 30 Middle East 2024 is a remarkable achievement. What does this recognition mean to you personally and professionally, and how does it reflect your journey so far?
First and foremost, I am incredibly humbled, proud, and happy to be recognized by the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Middle East 2024 list. This recognition represents the culmination of a dream built on manifestation, dedication, and relentless hard work. My journey started in Jordan, and it’s been an incredible experience that has taken me from my roots there to the global stage, with Paris now serving as the place where I continue to grow both personally and professionally.
On a personal level, this recognition inspires me to stay committed to my mission of creating a positive impact and amplifying meaningful conversations. Professionally, it acts as a powerful catalyst to accelerate my vision for the region and expand the scope of the work I am passionate about.
Looking back, this milestone reassures me that every step - both the triumphs and the challenges - along my journey has had a purpose. It’s a reminder that the bumps along the way were essential in shaping the path that led me here.
Your career has spanned impactful roles, from leading business to campaigns like the skin cancer prevention initiative at L'Oréal. What drives you to create meaningful impact through your work?
My drive to create meaningful impact stems from a deep belief in the power of business to address societal challenges and improve lives. Early in my career, I realized that brands hold a unique platform to spark conversations and inspire action. For instance, working on the skin cancer prevention initiative reinforced the importance of education and accessibility in promoting public health. Seeing how this campaign empowered people to protect their skin while fostering trust in the brand was incredibly fulfilling.
As someone who actively contributes to global networks like One Young World and the L'Oréal Alumni Committee, how do these platforms inspire your approach to leadership and innovation?
Being part of global networks like One Young World and the L'Oréal Alumni Committee has been a transformative experience for me. These platforms bring together exceptional individuals - changemakers with diverse perspectives, skills, and passions. My key strength lies in connecting these individuals, fostering collaboration, and enabling them to amplify their impact.
Through these interactions, I've learned the value of collective intelligence - how pooling talents and ideas can lead to solutions far greater than what any one individual could achieve alone. True innovation emerges when diverse voices come together with a shared purpose.
As an Ambassador, what advice would you give to future students of the Master’s programme who aim to make a significant impact in their industries, much like you have?
My advice to future students is to embrace change, learn from failure, and celebrate the journey. Be open to change and challenges because they offer growth and new opportunities. Don’t be afraid to fail - each mistake is a valuable learning experience that brings you closer to success. And remember, making an impact isn’t just about the end results; it’s about the progress you make and the relationships you build along the way. Focus on the journey, and trust that it will lead to meaningful achievements.
Mohammad's inspiring journey from Jordan to the global stage is a testament to the power of vision and purpose. His recognition on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Middle East 2024 list not only highlights his remarkable achievements but also underscores the potential of combining business with societal impact.
